Genius Gambling gets an insight into the success of the slot provider, Triple Edge Studios by picking the brains of its Market and Logistics lead Mike Bauerlein. In this exclusive interview covering their collaborative work with industry juggernaut Microgaming, some of their record breaking jackpot releases and a peak behind the curtain at how their exciting portfolio of slot games actually make it into the hands of consumers.
We have been big fans of Triple Edge Studios for a while but for those who aren't aware of your releases could you tell us about yourselves?
Hi, thanks so much for the opportunity to chat about our games! My name is Mike Bauerlein, Market Readiness & Logistics Lead at Triple Edge Studios. I first started working for Triple Edge Studios in 2015, a couple of years before our studio converted from Flash to HTML5. Since those days, we’ve learned and grown in huge leaps and bounds, not only in the technical space but also in our approach to making great games. Everything we do is driven by our core principle in balancing between iteration and innovation to design experiences that players are familiar with and excited about. We have had some amazing opportunities to collaborate alongside hugely recognizable brands in the gaming space to produce some of our most popular games, such as Ancient Fortunes: Poseidon™ Megaways™, and Absolootly Mad™: Mega Moolah.
Triple Edge Studios has released many jackpot games featuring the WowPot and Mega Moolah jackpots could you tell us more about them?
We are very proud of our increasing portfolio of jackpot games, and we consider them to be a popular genre that appeals to players across the board. In April 2021, we saw Absolootly Mad™: Mega Moolah deliver a massive €19.4 million win! Whenever a progressive jackpot is won, it resets to its seed value and begins to accumulate as players contribute toward the collective jackpots.
We’ve also created two games featuring the WowPot jackpot in Ancient Fortunes: Poseidon™ WowPot Megaways™ and Sisters of Oz™: WowPot, each paying out handsome jackpot wins.

Our relationship with Microgaming has been greatly beneficial for both parties. We work with them closely as content providers to deliver high-quality products through hundreds of leading online casino operators across the globe. It’s been hugely beneficial to work closely with, and draw value from the expertise and distribution of Microgaming.
Could you provide some detail to our readers as to how a slot game begins design wise, through production to the finished game we end up playing when made by Triple Edge Studios?
Our product teams are comprised of members from many different backgrounds, including mathematics, game design, illustrations, programming, quality assurance, and more. When we are considering the core math model, we blend our research with our own innovative tweaks to produce something that we think players will find fun.
Once production really kicks off, we try to get to a fully functional state as quickly as possible. It’s at this point when we can really get a feel for what’s working and what needs tweaks. We typically host an internal office tournament to simulate a real-play atmosphere and tap into the feedback from our colleagues.
Ultimately, our final game is the result of countless suggestions and decisions along the way from every member of the team, working closely together with a shared sense of passion and commitment to upholding the Triple Edge Studio quality level.
