Base Game
Played over 5 reels the slot features low paying symbols ranging from Jack to Ace with the highest paying symbols being portrayed as different types of sea creatures, sushi and even a Geisha. Reel 3 actually has its own 4 reels within it, giving the player 16 chances to land a matching symbol to form a winning combination with previously landed symbols on reels 1 and 2. Lightning Box call this feature Reelfecta reels and it allows the player to land up to 16 matching symbols on reel 3 alone creating bigger wins for the player. The base game is also home to two different types of wilds. There are wild reels which appear on reels 2 and 4 exclusively and substitute all other symbols except the scatter symbols along with wild symbols which can land anywhere on the 16 spaces of the middle reelfecta reel. These can work in conjunction with each other and allow the player to more easily form winning combinations of symbols.
Bonus Game
Awarded by landing at least 6 scatters in the reelfecta middle reel. The player is initially awarded an x win dependant on the number of scatters landed with 6 scatters giving 1x, 7 scatter awarding 5x with anymore than 11 scatters landing giving a huge 2,000x prior to the free spins round even beginning. The reelfecta reel is then given 12 highlighted positions with these positions landing only one of two symbols in play these are;

Locking in all 12 wilds will trigger the Megaspins where all 16 positions on the reelfecta reel will be filled with wilds with the free spins round ending after this spin. Landing a wild reel on reel 2 will award an additional multiplier to any win gained during that spin up to a maximum of 10x
Genius Gambling Review
Wild Hot Wasabi is a great and relatively simple game, its two different wilds work well to compliment each other in both the base game and free spins round. The slots charming overall aesthetic and animations of the main protagonist running in front of the game board upon landing a big hit are both fun and entertaining. We really did enjoy the reelfecta reel feature however we are not sure if Lightning Box have demonstrated how this feature work well enough within the game. Initially we found ourselves confused as to how we were getting wins and didn't quite realise the game only had 5 reels when at first glance it appears to have 8. After checking the information of the game and seeing that reel three was comprised of its own four reels the game started to become much more enjoyable. Overall the game is fun and doesn't take its self too seriously and because of these reasons we award Lightning Box's Wild Hot Wasabi our Genius Gambling Rating of 5 out of 10!
